POLITICAL EXPERIENCE
CAMPAIGN SUCCESS WITH MIKE SCHREINER
Steve was a major volunteer in the recent breakthrough campaign to elect Mike Schreiner, Ontario's first Green MPP, in Guelph. He was a chief fundraiser for the campaign, as well as a dedicated canvasser, both door-to-door and on the phone. He genuinely loves building community relationships, and learning about and engaging with different people's values and experiences.
CO-FOUNDER OF DEMOCRACY GUELPH
Dedicated to increasing the fairness of our electoral process, Steve helped to create Democracy Guelph. He has been a key organizer of numerous town halls and debates on electoral reform, and a longtime advocate for government that that is not simply winner-take-all, but reflects what people voted for.
GUELPH CITIZENS CLIMATE LOBBY
Steve has been a dedicated organizer and advocate for Guelph's chapter of The Citizens Climate Lobby. He traveled to Ottawa with a group of volunteers to encourage MPs to create a fair and transparent price on carbon.
GREEN PROVINCIAL CANDIDATE IN 2011
Steve ran once before as Guelph's Green candidate in the 2011 provincial election.
DEEP GREEN
Steve has been a volunteer, helping with signs, canvassing and fundraising for many past Guelph Green campaigns: Ben Polly (2007), Mike Nagy (2008), John Lawson (2011) Mike Schreiner (2014), Gord Miller (2015), Mike Schreiner (2018). He is a regular participant of the GPC and GPO conventions, and a former vice president of the Guelph Green Executive.
